I want to put readers here into the prevention mindset — the prevention of losing more historic resources in our city, privately and publicly held. The candidates for City Council will speak at a forum on Nov. 1, and that may be a good time to gauge the interest of the prospective councilmen in historic resources.

One councilman tried to make a point with me by mentioning the restoration of Old City Hall. I appreciate his point, but I wanted to hear him make a long term commitment to other properties in the city that need assistance. If you agree that our city should be planning to save history, name any historic resource in our city limits for me in a comment.

Hi, I'm Julia. I wanted to save a barn down the street from my house. It's been moved to a churchyard a couple miles away. Keep up with the barn's story and subscribe to this blog. For more about me, visit my personal blog .
